Emotional appeal verified by science

In 2001, Aurios introduced the Series 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and Pro Media Isolation Bearings (MIBs). These bearings quickly became the standard against which every other isolation device would be compared.

Aurios MIBs were the result of a genuine understanding of the challenges of recording and reproducing music. Many of the vibration isolation products on the market merely address symptoms without fully comprehending the problem and thus the solution.

Vibration isolation products are typically viewed as devices that shift the natural frequency of an isolated component to a lower range thus preventing resonance with ambient vibrations in a room or with vibrations that the component creates which then bounce back or reverberate with the component itself; i.e., in the case of speakers.

This makes perfect sense and many isolation products work because they are common sense solutions to an easily seen, heard and understandable problem. Spikes and cones reduce the surface of contact between the floor and a speaker and thus reduce the level of reverberation between the two. Isolation bearings generically characterized as "decouplers" go a step farther than do spikes and cones in solving the problem. Likewise, it makes intuitive sense to "float" a turntable in order to insure a smooth ride for the stylus.

However, how does one explain the positive effects from placing a signal conditioner or amplifier on Aurios bearings? These components do not project music as do speakers. They do not have moving parts as do turntables. Certainly the vibrations created by speakers will be transmitted into these components. But so what? How are these components negatively affected? They must be though because isolating these types of components produces powerful effects/benefits.

After extensive research, we answered these questions and uncovered the problem. Our understanding of the problem is what has led to the success of our Media isolation bearings.

The problem: Body wave transmissions in and throughout audio/video components and between these components and the stands or racks weaken signal-to-noise ratios producing a distorted sound.

The solution: Divert the flow and reverse propagation of unwanted body waves in order to strengthen the signal-to-noise ratio allowing for a clearer, crisper and fuller recording, reproduction, and amplification of the original signal.

Very simply Aurios MIBs are mechanical signal filters. Isolating components (speakers, DVD/CD, SACD players, amplifiers, preamps, turntables, etc…) with Aurios MIBs strengthens the signal-to-noise ratio. We have proven this with testing and the data supporting our claims can be found on our web site.
